Even though there haven’t been many more reports about Nottingham Forest’s chase for Brenner, it seems there’s still a chance that deal could happen.
The Reds’ chase for the FC Cincinnati striker was revealed in the past few days, and the rumour soon disappeared among the many deadline day stories.
However, as Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola talks about this chase, he points out it’s still possible the player could join Nottingham Forest.
The reporter first points out that Brenner shares the same agent as Danilo and Felipe, who both joined the Reds this month. That’s Giuliano Bertolucci.
It’s said the representative has ‘excellent relationship’ with Nottingham Forest officials, and that could make the negotiations easier.
Nicola also managed to get a word from people of Brenner’s staff, who said: “We’re trying to make the business, there’s still a chance”.
It’s said there are two difficulties right now. The first is the transfer price, with Nottingham Forest trying to sign the player on a loan with an option to buy, and the other is the time left before the deadline.
Brener has 26 goals and seven assists in 65 appearances for Cincinnati, and is valued by Trasnfermarkt at €8m.
