Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna has emerged as a transfer target for Leeds United, according to a report from Belgium.

The winger has impressed for the MLS side this year, scoring nine goals and registering eight assists from 36 games in all competitions. His performances would have caught the attention of Leeds United and Anderlecht.

Voetbal Nieuws have a report focusing on the Belgian club’s interest in the 21-year-old, with Leeds United getting a mention.

The American had a trial at the Jupiler Pro League side and there’s no clarity for why they decided not to sign him. Meanwhile, he’s managed to impress for Real Salt Lake, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed in Europe.

It’s claimed ‘there is interest’ in the attacker from the Whites, who have been following him. Anderlecht have to make a decision on whether to bet on him, and if yes, in the winter market or next summer.

The player’s contract lasts until December 2026, with an option to extend for two years. Transfermarkt values him at €6m, but the report states Real Salt Lake would need €8m to sell Luna.

There’s no indication if the Whites are willing to convert their interest into an offer. If they decide to do so, Leeds United have been told the fee needed to sign Luna.
