Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Jose Sa has hailed the appointment of Vitor Pereira, explaining what he’s brought to the club.

Somos Fanaticos cover comments from the Wolves goalkeeper today made to DAZN, in which he praised Pereira’s move to Molineux.

Pereira was appointed as Wolves’ manager one month ago as Gary O’Neil’s replacement after a disastrous start to the season.

He arrived at Molineux with Wolves 19th in the Premier League table, five points from Leicester in 17th place. His appointment came after a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town that had seen Wolves players and staff fighting on the pitch afterwards.

The Portuguese coach made an immediate impact, winning his first two games in charge against Leicester City and then Manchester United.

He’s since picked up 10 points from five games in the Premier League. Wolves have also progressed past Bristol City in the FA Cup third round.

Optimism has now returned to Wolves and there is hope they can get themselves out of trouble. They currently sit 18th but level on points with Ipswich and only a point behind Everton in 16th.

Sa is certainly pleased with the work Sa has done so far, highlighting the differences he’s made since replacing O’Neil.

“The mentality is different. When things aren’t going well and you change coaches, it’s always different,” he said.

“Mister Vítor Pereira has a lot of quality as a coach. We all know, and it came to help us a lot on a defensive level, on a team level, to all play together and want the same.

“Above all, it gave us belief again. So now we enter the field and believe that everything will work out and that we will do things well. And it has worked, thank God.”
