Nottingham Forest and Fulham both made efforts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush in the summer window.

Towards the end of August, multiple claims from Germany stated the Reds had made a bid for the striker. After the window closed, Bild reported he turned down an offer made by Marco Silva’s side.

Last month, Eintracht Frankfurt spokesman Alex Hellman insisted it was easy to convince the 25-year-old to snub both Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

Fast forward to October and Bild say Marmoush is happy to have rejected the two English clubs to stay at the Bundesliga side. The player has been speaking to Yallakora and the German outlet have relayed his comments.

Bild points out Nottingham Forest and Fulham’s approaches for the Egypt international in the last window. He’s pleased to have not made a switch to the Premier League.

“Of course, I knew about the offers. A change was possible but thank God I stayed and I’m happy that I stayed. This decision was the right one,” he said.

The frontman’s decision to continue at Eintracht Frankfurt has paid off as he’s starred this season, managing nine goals and six assists from nine matches. His side are third in the table, a point behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Marmoush aims to win the title with the German club this season.

“I would ideally like to win the German championship with Eintracht. I don’t know how long it has been since we became German champions [since 1959],” Marmoush explained.

“Frankfurt won the Europa League two years ago. But Bayern almost always wins the league. If we manage to win the championship, that would be really extraordinary.”
