Despite the growth Aaron Wan-Bissaka has shown of late under Erik ten Hag and the clear favouritism for Diogo Dalot, Manchester United are still being linked with a right-back.

Two names have appeared over and over again, and those are Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong, which shouldn’t be a surprise as they are both Dutch.

Focusing on the latter, he is currently at Bayer Leverkusen, widely seen as a Ten Hag specific target, who is clearly enthused by what the player has shown both at Celtic and now in Germany.

However, reports that talks have started between Manchester United and those representing him appear to be way off the mark, as reported by Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Germany journalist took to Twitter to assure that the player is ‘still on the list’ at Manchester United, but there are no ‘concrete talks’ between the Red Devils and the player’s management ‘at this stage’.

Furthermore, there are ‘no negotiations’ with Leverkusen themselves.

It’s recalled that the Manchester United target is under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2025, but he is ‘keen to make the next step’ in his career, meaning he would likely be open to a move to Manchester United should that present itself in the near future.
