Tottenham Hotspur are one of the suitors for Benfica winger Gianluca Prestianni, as he continues to impress in Portugal.
Prestianni has started this season in fine form, with five goals and three assists in seven games in Liga Portugal already. He also managed three goals in four games in Europa League qualifying.
It has led to plenty of interest in the 20-year-old left winger including from the Premier League.
Sport Witness already reported how Tottenham had been sending scouts regularly, including last week.
Tottenham scouting
Now O Jogo report that it is Prestianni who is on their radar. They state that the youngster is already on the watchlist of several Premier League clubs – specifically Tottenham and Aston Villa – as well as Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid.
The 20-year-old has reportedly been scouted since the start of the season. And he was recently closely monitored during the Clássico at the Estádio do Dragão.
He stood out in that game despite the 3-1 defeat, providing the assist with a cross for Bah. Clement Lenglet’s early sending off changed the game, though, and he was unable to demonstrate his talents fully as a result.
But a record of eight goals and three assists in all competitions speaks for itself. The belief is that Tottenham could look to move in the January transfer window.
They spent the summer signing wingers but may look to add more in the coming months and Prestianni is high in their estimations.
Competition
They would have to beat Atlético Madrid to the punch, though. They are continuing to bet on Argentine talent – driven by manager Diego Simeone – and they are doing their own scouting.
Indeed, like Tottenham, they are also scouting the winger on international duty. Prestianni is a member of Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina squad for this international break.
Any deal for him will require a big outlay. Benfica have the winger tied to a dal until June 2029. That includes a €100m release clause. He’s currently valued at €20m after costing €9m in 2024. He is also represented by Jorge Mendes and Gestifute.
That could work in Tottenham’s favour after they worked with him to sign Mateus Fernandes this summer. That deal included complicated negotiations, which were facilitated by Mendes.
Now he may have the opportunity to get another of his clients to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
