For the past month or so, claims from the Turkish press have said Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Victor Nelsson. Galatasaray have been demanding €25m for the defender but Spurs have refused to meet their demands so far.
Last week, Sabah stated Spurs’ offer was not accepted by the Istanbul club, which didn’t please the centre-back given he’s keen to join the north London club.
Hürriyet now state Tottenham have been ‘in talks’ with Galatasaray ‘for months’ to sign the 24-year-old.
It’s claimed the Premier League side’s offer of €17m plus €5m bonuses hasn’t convinced the Turkish champions.
Spurs have received encouragement in their pursuit of the Denmark international after his employer decided to sell him.
Galatasaray have already made six signings but have only raised €5.75m through Mostafa Mohamed’s sale to FC Nantes this summer. In order to improve their economic situation, the report states they are ready to sell Nelsson and Nicolò Zaniolo.
After earlier demanding €25m for the Dane, it’s claimed Galatasaray have lowered their request to €22m excluding bonuses.
According to Hürriyet, Tottenham are ‘determined’ to sign Nelsson and are expected to knock on Galatasaray’s door with a new offer in the ‘coming days’.
