AC Milan very much need a right back in the next transfer window, and this has led all sections of the Italian football media into pushing names forward as being under consideration.

Everton’s Djibril Sidibé has been one of the player’s mentioned, and Tottenham’s Serge Aurier is in the same situation.

Calciomercatoweb suggest it would be easier take the Frenchman from Everton, at least partly down to cost.

It’s believed Spurs would be looking for €25m for Aurier and wouldn’t come down from that figure. So whilst the Tottenham player has the advantage of also being able to play at left back and in central defence, the cost and difficulty of dealing with the London club would be an issue.

The assumption in Italy is that Sidibé’s loan move from AS Monaco isn’t going very well, with him only having two Premier League appearances so far. However, those came in the last two matches which could suggest Marco Silva sees him as a more regular option going forward.

Everton don’t really have much, if anything, to gain by cutting the loan short in January.

Lille’s Mehmet Zeki Çelik is a third option.
