Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko is expected to leave the Championship side this summer. His performance in the final of the Euros could help the Magpies get the maximum transfer fee.
A number of clubs in Europe have been linked to the French international, including Arsenal and Liverpool.
Sissoko has been speaking to French newspaper L’Equipe, and was asked if his performance in the finals of Euros could help him secure a deal at a top club.
“It could help me, but I wasn’t thinking about it,” replied Sissoko.
Sissoko was also asked if any interested club will have to pay as much as £35m for his services.
He added: “It could be £20m, for me, it changes nothing. Interested clubs will have to find a common ground. I hope it will be as soon as possible.”
There have been reports suggesting Liverpool have made an offer of around £18m for the player, whilst Newcastle want £35m,
It might be a bit difficult to find a common ground should that be the case, and it remains to be seen if Sissoko can get a move soon.
The players has now invited clubs to try and sign him, and he’ll have to wait and see which ones do.
