Towards the end of the transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur were repeatedly linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Isco.
The former Malaga player hasn’t had the Madrid career that many expected him to, and therefore is constantly followed around by doubt over his future.
Tottenham were the chosen club at the end of the window, and there were Spanish and English claims of talks and a deal being possible.
Spurs always need a saga towards the end of the window, and with Moussa Sissoko only providing the headlines late on deadline day, there was an earlier gap to be filled.
El Confidencial reported over the weekend that there was the possibility of a Tottenham loan move, and Isco considered joining the club. Real Madrid would also have been happy to agree to a loan, as long as Isco extended his contract with the club.
However, it’s stated the chance of a deal ‘evaporated in a short space of time’ because of Isco’s high demands, and Spurs answered ‘soon and negatively’ to what was being asked for.
