Southampton’s chase for FC Metz midfielder Lamine Camara is becoming a big subject in the French media.
Following initial reports that the Saints had placed a bid for him, a report from Taggat said the English club keep ‘pushing’ for the signing.
Now it’s time for FootMercato to share a new story on this pursuit, this time with some more details about Southampton’s attempt.
The outlet claims that the Saints offered €10m for Camara, and that was turned down by Metz.
The French side are said to be asking for more, and Southampton are expected to return with a new attempt soon.
FootMercato says Camara himself is excited about the possibility of playing in English football, and there could be other clubs coming forward for his signing.
That may be a sign for Southampton to rush with a better bid. Previous reports from France said Metz want €20m from the sale, although that sounds they’re pushing a little too hard. That shall depend on the offers that arrive at the table in the coming weeks.
