Corriere dello Sport present Carlos Alcaraz as one of Lazio’s options as they work to bring in a flexible attacker this summer.
They’re looking at several players, and it’s explained their friendly against Southampton on Wednesday evening gave them the chance to have a first hand look at the Argentine and even speak to the Premier League club about a potential deal.
However, the match turned into something of a fight and the Italian newspaper state Alcaraz was the ‘protagonist of the brawls with Guendouzi and Romagnoli’.
He received a red card, and whilst Corriere dello Sport don’t say Lazio have completely ruled him out, it’s not exactly the best introduction.
The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus, in a deal which looked doomed from the start. The Turin were never going to use their buying option and they handed the Southampton player less than 400 minutes.
Hindsight wasn’t required to see it was a bad deal, with it being obvious at the time he was just going to be a bit part player that Juve would look at.
Perhaps he needs to stay away from Italian clubs.
