On August 24th, Sport Witness reported a move to Chelsea or Manchester United is a ‘possibility’ for Saúl Ñíguez, but any potential deal was not advanced.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Atlético Madrid throughout the summer window and recent reports have indicated the Blues are ahead of the Red Devils.
Earlier today, AS came out with a report stating the La Liga winners are negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain for Pablo Sarabia, while also working on ‘Saúl’s departure to Chelsea’.
The Spanish newspaper explained the 26-year-old’s transfer to the west London club is ‘negotiated’, for a loan deal with a purchase option.
AS further stressed that although Saúl’s exit was considered impossible a few hours ago, ‘at the moment’ sources close to the negotiation have informed them his departure, most likely to Chelsea, is ‘closer than ever’.
However, a source has now told Sport Witness the Spain international’s chances of joining the Champions League winners are very slim. In addition to this, he’s much likelier to continue to with Diego Simeone’s side, once the transfer window closes later today.
