Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has insisted they “have something special planned” at the club in the near future.
The Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League after 15 games, having won 13 games so far and lost just one.
They are five points clear of Manchester City, having maintained their status at the top of the table with a comfortable 3-1 win over West Ham in their first game back following the World Cup break.
There is a growing belief that Arsenal are serious contenders for the title this season, with many doubting they would have continued where they left off, particularly after losing star forward Gabriel Jesus to a long-term injury.
They dispelled those doubts with the victory over West Ham and look to be keen to build on their progress in January with big signings such as Mykhailo Mudryk.
The future is certainly looking bright under Mikel Arteta’s leadership, a man Granit Xhaka is confident is leading Arsenal in the right direction.
“Of course, I’m happy that we’re on a very good path at Arsenal,” he told Nachrichtenagentur Keystone-SDA, relayed by March 24.
“I feel completely at ease and enjoy an enormous amount of confidence there. We have something special planned in London.
“We discussed everything [with Arteta about the World Cup], yes. He can read me like nobody else. Mikel knows what it’s like to be down. He felt how hurt I was by the way I was eliminated (in Qatar). But there are so many other challenges and tournaments. I will take those on.”
