In the past few days, the Argentine media have had quite a few stories about Gonzalo Montiel’s potential return to River Plate.
The fullback, who’s loaned out by Sevilla to Nottingham Forest for the season, isn’t having a great time in Europe and is seen as a possibility for the Buenos Aires side.
Now many Argentine outlets, including TyC Sports, show a potential hint from Montiel following all those rumours.
As his wife posted on Instagram a picture of him decorating a Christmas tree, he’s seen with wearing white and red Adidas shorts. Many people believe that could be River Plate’s, and the website says that seems like a ‘wink’ at his former club.
That’s not confirmed, though, especially because Nottingham Forest wear very similar shorts.
However, his wife was very clearly wearing a River Plate shirt.
Either way, the fact is that the Argentine media has been making big noise about his situation in Europe, as he only has 237 minutes for the Reds, and hasn’t entered the pitch since October.
Now it’s up to Nottingham Forest to decide whether to send him back to Sevilla, and only then he could his future be negotiated with River Plate.
