A few days ago, reports from the Belgian media said Arsenal had made a new effort to sign Anderlecht youngster Albert Sambi Lokonga.
It was claimed the Gunners had submitted a bid for the 21-year-old, and since the personal terms had already been agreed, it was now a matter of finding a deal with his club.
Now in updates from the Italian media, it’s claimed that Lokonga’s entourage is indeed waiting for Arsenal, even though there are other clubs who want him.
Sky Italia (via Area Napoli) report the midfielder is also a target for Atalanta, AC Milan and Napoli, but continues having the Gunners as his priority, as he wants to play in the Premier League.
The reports from Belgium claimed that Arsenal offered €14m as a flat fee, plus €3m in bonuses. Even though the clubs have been negotiating for some time, that offer hasn’t been accepted by Anderlecht.
Now with so many clubs in the competition, the Gunners must be aware that they’re not the only ones trying to convince the Belgian side of a deal.
