The South American media continues to report Sheffield United’s interest in signing the America striker Roger Martinez.
Two reports have been making some noise in the past 24 hours. One of them comes from Colombian outlet El Deportivo.
They only claim that the Blades are chasing the player, since he’s seen as a ‘good option’ for the Premier League season.
It’s said that the striker ‘could have’ an offer to return to Europe, after already playing for Villarreal.
Then Mexican journalist Billy Escobar wrote a tweet saying that ‘in Colombia’, they’re claiming Martínez is heading to Sheffield United on a US$15m deal.
He doesn’t make it clear where the information came from, but that was enough for the Mexican and the Colombian media to start covering it.
Looking for the original source, we didn’t find anything fresh, as these reports have been repeated for the last few days. Back on Monday, we covered a story from newspaper El Universal saying the player’s price tag is €15m, so perhaps that’s where it’s coming from.
