Ever since Manchester City kicked off the interest for Bilel Hassaini, we’ve followed the youngster’s situation as best we can.

Arsenal and Crystal Palace have also been linked from the Premier League, and now it’s Liverpool’s turn to wade in and attempt to acquire the 18-year-old.

Formerly contracted to AS Nancy-Lorraine, the winger is now a free agent, and Foot Mercato report the Reds are currently ’well placed’ to sign Hassaini.

However, all hope is not lost for the Gunners, as it’s hinted a move to the Emirates would be his preference, as the French website state the player is ‘still waiting’ for a ‘concrete offer’ to arrive from Unai Emery’s side.

For now, it seems Jürgen Klopp and co. are one step ahead of the London club, but that could easily change if Arsenal give him the deal he’s looking for.

This certainly isn’t over, and it seems we could have an interesting battle on our hands, as the race to acquire yet another exciting French talent is underway.
