Besiktas are ready to offload Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, and the former Liverpool and Arsenal player has been linked with a move to Sheffield United in recent weeks.

Takvim have today reported on Besiktas’ transfer plans for this transfer window, with new sporting director Brad Friedel looking to but and sell. It’s claimed Oxlade-Chamberlain is set for a return to his home country after failing to make a real impact in his debut season in Turkey.

Again, it’s reported Sheffield United are interested in signing the 30-year-old attacking midfielder and are monitoring his situation in Istanbul.

Besiktas are reportedly looking at Benfica’s Angel Di Maria who would be seen as an ideal replacement for Oxlade-Chamberlain

Sheffield United should expect to face competition for the player after we covered reports last week that Southampton and Fulham are also looking to land him.

Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for the Super Lig side last season, scoring four goals. He’s contracted to the club until June 2026.
