Famous Italian journalist and commentator Francesco Repice has hinted Tottenham could make a move for Massimo Allegri.
Tottenham are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho last week, with Ryan Mason currently in temporary charge until the end of the season.
Their number one target Julian Nagelsmann has already been poached by Bayern Munich, while a move for Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag seems unlikely after he signed a new deal with the Dutch giants.
That has led to alternate names being linked with the position, with Allegri likely to be among them considering he remains out of work after leaving Juventus in 2019.
He has long been linked with a move to England given his success with the Italian giants, where he had a 70% win ratio and won five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana during his time in charge.
That’s the kind of success that Tottenham would welcome, and Repice believes they are one to keep an eye on in the chase for Allegri’s signature.
“Any sensible club would bet on him,” he told Juventus News 24.
“Watch out for Tottenham, both for him and for Sarri, but a big club that wants to revive the team has only one name that can be used: Massimiliano Allegri.”
