Fluminense have seen an effort to try and sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder André completely shot down by the player’s entourage.
That’s according to Fluminense President Mário Bittencourt, who has revealed his failed efforts himself, in comments relayed by Bolavip.
They explain that Fluminense are working hard to sign high-level players for the Club World Cup, which starts this month and runs until July. Their goal is to go as far in that tournament as they can.
They’ve approached various figures, including Cristiano Ronaldo, about a move, although the Portuguese superstar showed no interest in the move even with the prospect of playing in the tournament. There was also suggestions of a move for Neymar.
Another Brazilian was also on the list, Wolves midfielder André, and an attempt was made to try and sign him this month. That, though, was ‘without success’.
The president revealed this himself, in an interview with the Setor Sup Podcast, explaining that he contacted the Wolves midfielder’s representatives with the aim of bringing the 23-year-old back to his former club.
However, he was given the impression that it won’t be happening, explaining that there is “no chance, unfortunately” of getting the midfielder back.
That would suggest the midfielder’s representatives were pretty clear about their plans, and that doesn’t include Fluminense.
