Armel Bella-Kotchap has had a season of struggle at Southampton.
The defender made only four appearances in the Premier League and injuries kept him out of the club’s squad for most of the season. He had spent the 2023/24 season on loan at PSV Eindhoven and even there, he had played only four Eredivisie games in the entire season.
With the Saints now relegated, it seems as if the Germany international could be ready to exit the South Coast club in the summer. Despite not having impressed much in two seasons, there is no shortage of interest in the 23-year-old.
SportItalia have reported that several clubs are keeping a close eye on Bella-Kotchap.
Italian clubs Udinese and Torino have sent scouts to ‘closely evaluate’ the centre-back, who also interests Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and Borussia Monchengladbach. All three of these clubs have monitored his progress this season.
The report states that Bella-Kotchap’s future is definitely uncertain. While no decision has been made by the France-born defender, his lack of playing time at Southampton and relegation from the Premier League are reasons that will push him towards the exit door at St Mary’s.
