Che Adams’ move to Torino got an awful lot of attention in the Italian sport media.
After impressing for Southampton in the Championship last season, his contract at the club ran out and he joined Il Toro on a free transfer.
The Scottish striker made his first start for the club yesterday in a mouth-watering game against Atalanta and he impressed, scoring once and assisting teammate Ivan Ilic to another.
Gazzetta dello Sport today highlight how the Torino fans are gushing about the performance against Atalanta and subsequently thrilled with Adams.
They describe Adams as a ‘rock and roll Scotsman’ who has ‘goals in his blood’. They state that the ex-Southampton man’s full debut was ‘unforgettable’, and left Torino fans on their feet in appreciation.
Gazzetta hail how Adams worked hard in training despite arriving in the middle of the club’s camp and that his impact has been instant – in the Serie A and in the Coppa Italia as well.
They also carry quotes from the striker, who described the outing as a ‘great match’ and also stated how he could have got another goal, but his attempt was saved by Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.
Southampton fans will surely be happy for Che Adams, if a little disappointed it’s not them he’s doing it for.
