On Monday, Liverpool announced Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave when his contract runs out on June 30th.
The right-back is set to join Real Madrid as a free agent, and this has been reported over the past few months. After yesterday’s announcement, today’s Spanish newspapers cover his signing for the La Liga club.
Tuesday’s edition of AS looks at when Real Madrid could make the Liverpool star’s signing official.
Los Blancos have qualified for the Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the US on June 14th.
According to the newspaper, the Premier League winners won’t have issues sanctioning an early release as long as their conditions are met.
The defender earns €900,000 per month and Liverpool, led by sporting director, Richard Hughes, want him to forgo June’s salary. Hughes fought until the end to retain Alexander-Arnold but wasn’t successful, so isn’t ready to be overly helpful.
Claims from England stated Real Madrid offered €600,000 to secure his early release. AS, after relaying that, state Hughes is standing firm as he’s demanding €1m from Real Madrid.
If the Spanish giants or Alexander-Arnold refuse to meet Liverpool’s demands, he will join them on a free transfer after June 30th.
