Despite some heavy confidence in Germany that Thilo Kehrer is on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from West Ham United, some in Spain believe Sevilla are still in the race.
That’s what Vamos Mi Sevilla are reporting on their website following the arrival of Quique Sánchez Flores, as they intend to take advantage of his arrival to give the squad a ‘facelift’.
According to them, the first thing the new manager has asked for is to ‘shore up the defensive zone’, which is where the West Ham centre-back would come in.
They do point out the news originally came from Germany, which isn’t surprising considering the player’s nationality, but they do add he has ‘returned on Sevilla’s agenda’, who could end up ‘taking advantage’ of his lack of game time in England to secure a deal.
The idea would be for him to arrive on loan, since buying him outright would be far too expensive for them midway through the season.
It’s also recalled this isn’t the first time the West Ham player was linked with a move to the Spanish side, as he was followed by Monchi when there was a need to replace Diego Carlos and Jules Koundé, who ended up going to Aston Villa and Barcelona respectively.
