Even though Manchester United have lost their first two Champions League games of the season, those who want to see the glass half full should consider that they scored five goals in those matches.

Bruno Fernandes continues to be a quite productive man in the Red Devils’ attacking sector, and he sees himself get praised in the Portuguese media once again.

Manchester United fullback Diogo Dalot spoke to Eleven Sports after the match. In quotes relayed by A Bola, he talked about his teammate’s importance to the squad, explaining the midfielder has been a leader on and off the pitch.

“I think Bruno’s ability and influence on a team like ours is remarkable, not just because of his footballing qualities, which are unanimous, but also because of what he gives the team off the pitch, the leadership he has, the energy he gives,” said Dalot.

“Having players like that is always an advantage for us, and a positive experience for every player who has the ability to play with him. This is the third year I’ve been with him, I share a changing room with him, and every season we’ve grown, and I think with his help it’s easier for us to be in the best condition on the pitch.”

Dalot also spoke about himself. Even though he may not have had the best performance against Galatasaray, the fullback displayed confidence that he can be quite useful for Erik ten Hag’s side, as he highlighted some of his own qualities.

“Individually, it’s about continuing to be the same player, working every day to try to be available and always trying to evolve, because there’s always room for improvement. And of course I want to try and play as much as possible. I have a physical capacity that allows me to give a lot to the team and that’s what I’m looking for in every game, to help in any way I can, both at club and international level.”

Following the 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray, Manchester United now switch their focus to the Premier League, where they’re also in a delicate situation and play Brentford at the weekend.
