Real Sociedad are growing increasingly aware that striker Willian Jose is unlikely to make a permanent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

That’s according to MARCA, who say the Spanish side are looking at other options for the striker, who they do not want moving forwards.

Jose joined Wolves on loan in January as they sought out a replacement for Raul Jimenez, but he managed just one goal in 17 games after his arrival.

The deal included a €25m purchase clause, and initially, it appeared that was mandatory, but several reports have changed that stance, with it instead becoming optional.

MARCA back that up and state ‘now it seems that it (a transfer) will not happen’, at least not for the €25m quoted.

They say Jose’s one goal was far from him ‘fulfilling the expectations’ the club had of him when he arrived at the club.

Thus, they’re not all that keen to keep him, and he should return to Zubieta at the beginning of July if a ‘new agreement’ with Wolves or another club cannot be found.

La Real really don’t want him, though, particularly after Alexander Isak’s explosion this season and want to find somewhere to send him instead.

At the moment, that looks unlikely to be Wolves, who the newspaper says are ‘unlikely to exercise the option’ they have on the striker at this moment in time.
