Lewis Ferguson has grown significantly during his time at Bologna and Rangers have been in the picture to sign him.
The Scotsman has had quite a journey in Italy. He picked up a serious knee injury in 2024 and this derailed his progress in the 2024/25 campaign. Ferguson did well in the 2025/26 campaign, showing that he is back to his best.
He has also captained the Rossoblu in Europe, gaining significant experience in the Europa League and Champions League.
Back in May, SportWitness covered comments from his agent about the possibility of a move to a bigger club. He revealed Ferguson’s interest in moving to a major Serie A side, essentially pushing Rangers out of a potential race.
Now, there have been developments in Italy that can favour the Glasgow club.

Nicolas Raskin has caught the attention of Bologna and Rangers can offer him in the move.

Lewis Ferguson knows Derek McInnes very well from his time at Aberdeen and this can play a pivotal role in a transfer.
The 26-year-old can elevate the level of the midfield. He did similar at Bologna when he first joined, becoming important for three separate managers during that time, and taking the club to Europe.
He also acquired the experience of winning silverware, picking up the Coppa Italia title under Thiago Motta.
