As Porto continue to be hopeful they can sign Alfredo Morelos from Rangers this summer, newspaper Jornal de Notícias today brings the latest updates on this saga.
The outlet writes that with the end of the Copa America, there’s now a ‘new stage’ for the talks, since the player himself is expected to press the Ibrox side for a move.
It’s claimed that Morelos is ‘inclined to accept the invite’, since he wants to make a ‘qualitative leap’ in his career and have the guarantee that he’ll play the Champions League’s group stage next season.
Meanwhile, Porto continue to wait, as they haven’t been able to satisfy Rangers yet, and it’s claimed that the Dragons made an offer of €12m, including 20% of a future move for Steven Gerrard’s side, but that wasn’t enough.
Reports have been claiming that Rangers want €15m for the transfer, and while Porto aren’t convinced about spending that much money, they continue to play this game of patience.
Down their end, the Dragons feel like they do have the conditions to get the deal done.
Following the Copa America, Morelos is now expected to have a few days off and then work to get the move done, meaning the player is expected to play a big part in his own potential transfer this summer.
