Philippe Clement still has Rıdvan Yılmaz at his disposal at Ibrox, after Galatasaray struggled to find an agreement with Rangers for his transfer.
On Thursday, journalist Ali Naci Küçük stated the Turkish club and Rangers were €1m apart with their valuations of the 22-year-old.
Hürriyet reiterates the Rangers player is Gala’s priority target for left-back and that they continue to negotiate with Philippe Clement’s side.
The Turkey international is said, by the above source at least, to be keen on making a switch to Istanbul and ‘had a meeting’ with Rangers’ leaders, to request a move. The report states the ‘ball is in the court’ of Philippe Clement’s side.
Yılmaz can still seal a transfer to Turkey since the window there is open until next Friday.
Galatasaray have been working on signing a new left-back for weeks and their need to strengthen the position has only increased following Angeliño’s exit. The Rangers man is the chosen one, but the deal is unlikely to take shape as of now.
That’s at least what DHA are reporting, and they add the ‘transfer came to a halt’ because of the demands made by Philippe Clement’s side and the player. It’s claimed Rangers are demanding €5m and Yılmaz wants an annual salary of €1.6m.
Therefore, DHA state Galatasaray have shifted their focus to Fatih Karagümrük’s Levent Mercan.
