FC Twente let Robin Pröpper move to Rangers in August of last year and have been working on a deal to take him away from Ibrox this summer.
Last month, Twente manager Joseph Oosting opened the door for the centre-back’s return and their technical director, Jan Streuer, said the Rangers player will have the final say.
On Friday, Twente Insite reported the defender could soon leave Rangers and return to his former club. They also stated the Eredivisie side’s supporters are eagerly waiting for him to return.
SoccerNews.nl now provide the latest on the Dutch club’s efforts to sign the 31-year-old. Rangers have already signed two new centre-backs [Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga] and would have allowed Pröpper to leave Ibrox.
The latest claims from the UK have stated Pröpper missed Friday’s training session. This is relayed by the Dutch outlet, who then share the latest information from journalist Paul Lassche.
He claims the Rangers man can be presented as a new Twente player this weekend.
“If signs are correct, Pröpper will be present for the player presentation at De Grolsch Veste on Sunday,” he said.
SoccerNews.nl are unaware of the fee Twente will pay Russell Martin’s side for Pröpper. Last month, multiple claims from the Dutch press stated they will pay €1.5m to Rangers for the central defender.
