Rangers have confirmed that they have parted ways with Philippe Clement on Sunday.

The Scottish club released a statement on their official website and provided no updates as to who will take charge until they appoint a new permanent manager.

Rangers face Kilmarnock on Wednesday and have to appoint at least an interim manager for this fixture.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update on Issame Charaï’s situation at Rangers. On January 29th, the Ibrox club appointed the Belgian as Clement’s assistant.

Following his compatriot’s departure, the journalist claims Charaï will take charge as the Rangers interim manager.

Rangers ‘count on’ the 42-year-old to fill in as long as they appoint Clement’s successor. According to Tavolieri, Charaï will take charge of the training session on Monday.

It remains to be seen whether this claim will be backed up by the Scottish press.

Charaï started his coaching career as an assistant manager at Al-Faisaly in 2012. He was the Morocco U23 manager for two years between 2022 and 2024 and that has been his only job as a head coach.
