Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been likened to Brazilian Adriano, regardless of his start to life in the Premier League.
Haaland moved to Manchester City in the summer, signing in a €60m deal in one of the biggest moves of the summer window.
That has already proven to be money well spent, with the Norwegian already racking up nine goals in his first five games in the Premier League and back-to-back hattricks.
He has quickly gotten a handle on the pace of the Premier League and Manchester City’s style of play, with many predicting he could break goalscoring records this season.
It’s a continuation of what’s come before for the 22-year-old, who racked up 86 goals in 89 games for Borussia Dortmund and 29 in 27 for Red Bull Salzburg.
He is indisputably one of the stars of the future, but Cassano is not impressed, and instead believes it is teammate Julian Alvarez who is far more exciting.
“For me Julian Alvarez is much stronger than Haaland,” he told Bobo TV, relayed by Area Napoli.
“Haaland will score 90 goals, he is very strong, he is a much stronger Lukaku, but Alvarez is more of a player than Haaland.
“Qualitatively he is stronger. Haaland is not special, I see Inter’s Adriano in Haaland, he has a bit of Vieri’s progression.”
