PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi has been a shining light for the Dutch club this season and he has now expressed his admiration for Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has scored ten times in the Eredivisie this season and has one Champions League goal to his name as well. He’s played a little over 700 minutes in both competitions combined and boasts a great goalscoring rate.

While the American star is all set to sign a new deal at PSV, he has spoken about his liking for Chelsea and also revealed his desire to play in the Premier League later in the future.

He told Voetbal International, as relayed by SoccerNews: “When I was young, I was a Chelsea fan. I was a Real Madrid supporter, but when I was young, our shirts always looked like Chelsea’s.

“Our team was the lions and they have that in their logo, that’s why. But Real Madrid was it for me, because of the club and Ronaldo.”

Speaking further about his future prospects, Pepi said: “Ultimately, I think every player wants to play in the Premier League at some point. It is the best competition. Quite physical. Spain also seems nice to me, because in La Liga, most clubs, like PSV, rely on ball possession. It is something for later, I still have enough ambitions with PSV.”

This isn’t the first time that the USA international has spoken about his liking for Chelsea.

Having said that, a move for him is something that will have to wait for the Blues. That is because his new deal is likely to run until the summer of 2030 and that probably rules out an immediate move away from the Dutch side.

It might be something that the London club keeps an eye on for the future.
