Chelsea now seem close to completing the signing of Pedro Lima from Sport Recife.
Globo Esporte today shares a story claiming the Blues have already agreed personal terms with the 17-year-old fullback, and the transfer is now believed to be ‘well underway’.
The outlet also managed to have a word with Lima’s agent Renato Guimarães, who confirmed that Chelsea are sorting the final details for the move.
“There has been progress in the negotiations, but it’s not over yet. The salary part is settled, but there are still some clauses to be defined in the contract, some bonuses,” said Renato Guimarães.
It’s said that Chelsea initially offered €8m, then raised their bid to €10m and some add-ons. Sport Recife are not expected to keep the percentage of a future transfer.
With Sport Recife currently playing in the second division in Brazil, Lima cannot get a work permit for the Premier League yet. That’s one of the reasons why he’s expected to go to Strasbourg on loan. There he could get the necessary points for a visa.
Globo Esporte also got in touch with the Brazilian club, but they claimed they’re only talking about the transfer on Tuesday, as they’re completely focused on an important match on Monday evening.
