Getafe president Ángel Torres ‘can breathe a sigh of relief’ as Christantus Uche appears to be back on track at Crystal Palace.

That’s according to Marca. They cover the midfielder today and how his €20m move to Crystal Palace now appears to be back on the cards.

They explain that Uche has quickly turned himself into ‘Palace’s new idol’ after he played his first game as a starter, scored and was adored by the travelling fans in the 3-0 win over Shelbourne.

It was a big moment for the loanee. He’s barely been seen at Selhurst Park this season after joining on loan from Getafe in the summer. That’s led to major worries at the Spanish club.

They’re due to receive €20m if Uche plays 10 games for Crystal Palace this season. That’s money that their finances desperately need. But the likelihood of it happening was low as Uche found himself out of the picture. Uche had even admitted that it “kill’s you inside” when referring to his situation on social media.

Now, though, he’s enjoyed a dramatic turn of events in just one week. He was the star man in the Conference League win over Shelbourne, opening the scoring and enjoying a ‘great game’. There was also a late sub appearance in the recent win over Fulham.

He now appears to be in Glasner’s plans, which means Getafe and president Ángel Torres ‘can breathe a sigh of relief’. They need the €20m fee to keep the books balance amid uncertainty surrounding the club thanks to Financial Fair Play. Now Uche is back in the picture, the prospect of them getting that fee is growing.
