Burnley may want to step up their interest in Werder Bremen youngster Karim Coulibaly as more suitors line up for the 18-year-old.
That’s at least according to BILD. They report that Coulibaly is getting ever close to a move away from Werder in the summer transfer window.
He’s impressing in the Bundesliga week by week, and a top transfer is looking increasingly likely as a result. Werder are certainly expecting to receive a ‘hefty sum. A transfer is seen as when not if at this moment in time.
The original plan was for Coulibaly to remain at Werder Bremen until at least 2027. However, according to BILD, that no longer seems likely. It’s more likely that he’ll depart at the end of the season.
Werder would be happy to sell as they need the money, and he is the player who would comment the highest transfer fee. There’s also plenty of ‘financially capable’ suitors.
Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus are particularly interested. Several Premier League sides are also showing an interest in the youngster. Burnley have been for some time. In fact, they had a scout in attendance at the Weser Stadium for the 1-0 against Union Berlin back in October.
BILD believe it’s possible that ‘many more clubs’ will soon set their sights on the promising youngster. Burnley, then, may want to consider moving before then before the competition becomes too fierce.
