Even though Tottenham Hotspur and Porto are still to find a deal for the transfer of Mehdi Taremi, the Portuguese media already talk about the striker’s potential ‘farewell’ with the Dragons.
That possibility is brought up by newspaper Record, who today claim the player could have his ‘last game’ for the club in the super cup match against Benfica this week.
It’s said the contacts between Tottenham and Porto are advancing, and the agreement could be reached right after that game.
Taremi is expected to show his best in the match against Benfica, as even in case of an exit, he’d like to leave the club ‘through the front door’.
Tottenham reportedly ‘promised’ they can reach €24m for the transfer, and the reason there isn’t an agreement yet is that Porto demand €30m.
The deal is said to be in the hands of Jorge Mendes. Meanwhile, reports from Iran have been claiming that AC Milan are back in the race for the striker.
For now, it doesn’t sound like the Rossoneri are outbidding Tottenham, but that may be a warning for Spurs to move quicker.
