Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister is being ‘closely followed’ by Real Madrid, according to a surprise claim from DSports Radio.
The midfielder arrived at Anfield last summer and has been a regular under Jürgen Klopp this season. He’s scored six goals and registered seven assists from 45 games and this has caught the attention of the La Liga side.
DSports Radio journalist Marcelo Benedetto now states Real Madrid are interested in the Liverpool star.
Carlo Ancelotti has several midfielders at his disposal, including 38-year-old Luka Modrić and 34-year-old Toni Kroos, and both have deals expiring in June.
The report insists Los Blancos are looking at options to replace them and have set their sights on Mac Allister. They haven’t taken into account claims from Spain indicating that Real Madrid want to extend Modrić and Kroos’ contracts.
Another journalist, Juan Carlos Pasman, told the same outlet that ‘it is very possible’ that the 25-year-old will make a switch to the Spanish capital club ‘within a year’.
DSports Radio state Mac Allister has a €70m clause in his contract that lasts until 2028, and Real Madrid would have to activate it, if they wish to sign him in the coming windows.
