There’s a claim in the Swedish media that Elfsborg midfielder Michael Baidoo is on the verge signing for Plymouth Argyle.
The Ghanian was linked with a move to the Championship side in recent months and January always looked like a prime time for the deal to happen.
Expressen this afternoon report on the latest developments regarding Plymouth Argyle’s pursuit for Baidoo and they say a transfer fee has been agreed with Elfsborg.
The Pilgrims will pay in the region of £1.45m for the 25-year-old, which is expected to increase with add ons.
It’s also reported Plymouth Argyle are hoping to register the player in time to play against Stoke City this weekend and that he is currently in England waiting for the deal to be sealed.
Plymouth Argyle made an offer for the midfielder during the last window, but Elfsborg wanted to keep hold of him due to their participation in the Europa League and because they were at the mid point of the Allsvenskan season.
However, with the Swedish league now finished and just two games remaining in Europe it seems they’ve finally allowed him to join the English club.
