Having arrived at Villa Park on a free transfer, Youri Tielemans hasn’t managed to shine at Aston Villa just yet. He’s been restricted to 126 minutes of action from five league games and has made two starts in the Europa Conference League this season.

The midfielder’s latest start came in Aston Villa’s 3-2 defeat against Legia Warszawa on Thursday, and he played the full 90 minutes.

Focusing on the 26-year-old’s latest display, Walfoot say it ‘didn’t necessarily go well’ for him and he ‘did not particularly reassure’ in the middle of the pitch for the Villans.

Unai Emery’s side came from behind twice but Ernest Muci’s goal in the 51st minute was enough for Legia to seal a win.

The former Leicester City man’s performance against the Polish club hasn’t convinced Het Nieuwsblad.

They explain that ‘it became clear’ the Belgium international ‘lacks rhythm’ and this was also evident when he was with the national team during the last international break. They add the player is ‘still looking for his top form’ at Aston Villa.

Earlier this month, Het Laatste Nieuws stated Tielemans has to impress Unai Emery to improve his situation, something that he hasn’t managed to do so far at Aston Villa.
