Liverpool’s hunt for Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister gets an interesting update from the Argentine media today.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo writes that the Reds are advancing ‘more and more’ to get the signing done this summer.
It’s said Liverpool’s offer is currently being analysed by Mac Allister’s father and his agent.
The Reds are reportedly putting on the table a contract lasting until 2028, so it sounds more like a personal offer, and it’s not yet clear whether they’re in talks with Brighton yet.
According to Merlo, the ‘final decision’ will be made after Mac Allister finishes the season with Brighton.
Merlo doesn’t bring any information on how much Liverpool are willing to put on the table for the transfer, so we’re still to see if their bid will be enough to convince the Seagulls.
Mac Allister, who recently won the World Cup with Argentina, is still protected by Brighton with a contract until 2025, with a club option for an extra year,. He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €42m, but is likely to move for much more.
