For the past few weeks, DC United have been showing interest in Leeds United’s Mateusz Klich.
After WP SportoweFakty reported earlier this month about the MLS side wanting the 32-year-old, Foot Mercato journalist Sébastien Denis explained on Thursday that Klich will leave the Whites in January.
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has admitted yesterday that he would like to retain the midfielder amid interest from elsewhere.
DC United’s interest to sign the Poland international in the winter market is also discussed in his country.
Meczyki state the player is ‘very close’ to leaving the Premier League side, before claiming DC United have offered a three-year deal to Klich, who has also received interest from other clubs.
However, they would only want to take Klich on a loan deal.
Therefore, a move to DC United is ‘very close’, but the transfer is ‘not closed yet’, and the report adds the ‘talks are ongoing’ with Leeds.
Klich lost his place at Leeds this season, where he failed to start in the league, and the lack of regular minutes meant he couldn’t represent Poland at the World Cup.
