Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech has been a target for AC Milan for most part of the summer window.

Last month, reports coming out of Italy explained the 28-year-old’s experience and the ability to play as an attacking midfielder and on the wide position had impressed the Serie A side’s chiefs.

It was also stated the Rossoneri were expected to hold talks for the former Ajax man’s signing in August.

Calciomercato claim Milan have a strong desire to give Stefano Pioli a new signing in the  attacking position. The Morocco international gets a mention as his profile ‘arouses the imagination’ of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

Milan approached the player’s representative to understand the feasibility of the operation, without even making an official offer to the Blues. The Italian side were hoping to receive an opening from the west London club for a loan deal.

That, however, hasn’t happened because Thomas Tuchel’s plans for Ziyech have changed. It’s said the English club’s manager has decided to bet on the player during the pre-season and the UEFA Super Cup clash against Villarreal.

Therefore, taking Ziyech away from Chelsea ‘now is basically impossible’, forcing Milan to look at other options in the market to please Pioli.
