We’ve written a lot about the future of Patrick Cutrone over the past couple of weeks as the player looks for a way out of Fiorentina.
Many reports have suggested the striker could end up cutting his loan spell with the Serie A club short due to a lack of minutes, and Wolverhampton Wanderers could see what felt like guaranteed money from a purchase clause disappear into thin air.
That would mean another loan deal to some other club, with Bologna and Torino reportedly keen on the former Milan forward’s services.
In the meantime, Wolverhampton have been left without Raúl Jiménez at Molineux following his head injury against Arsenal, but FirenzeViola make one thing clear on Tuesday: Cutrone ‘will not return in advance’ to take up his spot during the Mexican’s convalescence.
They published an article on the matter, and a member of Fiorentina ‘confirmed that the agreement stipulated a year ago is still valid for them and that their position on the player has not changed in the meantime’.
As things stand, Cutrone still belongs to them, at least on a loan basis, and any exit would mean ‘the first move will have to be made’ by Cesare Prandelli’s side.
Wolves don’t seemingly intend to cut the loan short either, but should a change of clubs be made, it’ll be Fiorentina who get the process underway.
