Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda Jr. is finally getting ready to train again, according to reports from the Belgian media today.

Outlet Het Laatste Nieuws is the one claiming that the player is soon joining the Blues’ squad and have group practices after sixteen months of recovery.

They claim that the 24-year-old must prove the club he’s fit to play, and that means they won’t let him leave on a loan spell in the January transfer window.

Musonda is expected to first show his form for Chelsea’s U-23 squad, and only then think of having any chances for the first team.

Musonda has been struggling with knee injuries for years now, and went through surgery in August 2019. HLN says the doctors claimed he’d only have 20% chance of playing professionally again.

His contract with Chelsea only expires in June 2022, so there’s still some time left for him to show he can be useful for the Blues or any other clubs who get interested in his services.
