The Catalan press would always do their best to assist Barcelona in allowing a few of their fringe players leave the club in a transfer window.
Ernesto Valverde and his men travel to the United States for the pre-season very shortly, and Sport reported on July 13th that Andre Gomes will not travel with his current teammates and was a transfer target for Juventus and Arsenal.
Mundo Deportivo today claims the ‘ideal destination’ for the 24-year-old is Tottenham Hotspur. He was reportedly on the radar of the north London club last summer and the Portuguese international remains hopeful he can revive their interest.
Gomes is also said to be eager to play under Mauricio Pochettino as he believes his style of play is ‘perfectly suited’ for him. He is also of the belief that a move to Tottenham will help him regain his best form.
If the former Valencia man fails to get his move to Tottenham sealed, he has set his sights on joining another club in the Premier League.
Gomes parted ways with Jorge Mendes and appointed Paul Martin as his new agent. The latter usually works with the English clubs and Gomes may have made that switch with a PL move in mind.
