Portuguese international Andre Gomes future now lies away from the Camp Nou as the midfielder is aware that he has no place at Barcelona.

Today’s edition of Sport claims Gomes is edging closer towards leaving in the summer transfer window. The La Liga winners will travel to the United States for their preseason tour and it’s claimed the player will not travel with his current teammates.

Barcelona are working towards finding a solution that suits all the parties and the negotiations have stepped up in the last few days. The report mentions two clubs – Juventus and Arsenal – have more chance of signing Gomes.

Ernesto Valverde’s side are demanding €20m for the midfielder, a figure which has dropped again. However, neither the Serie A winners nor the north London club are unwilling to meet the Spanish champions’ asking price and an agreement could be closed at around €18m.

The Camp Nou outfit will also ask for a portion of the transfer fee, if Gomes is sold by his new club in the future.

Unai Emery has stressed the Emirates club will only make another addition “if one player is a big opportunity” for the English club. Earlier this week, we also carried a report from Mundo Deportivo, who claimed that Gomes is not included in Emery’s ‘immediate’ plans at Arsenal.

That goes against other claims from the same Catalan newspaper, who also stated Arsenal have made a Gomes offer, conditional on Aaron Ramsey leaving the club.
