Brentford F.C. made two new additions to their squad in the winter market by taking Christian Eriksen on a free transfer and Jonas Lössl on a loan deal from FC Midtjylland.

These were not the only two Danes the Bees looked at in January as Alexander Bah was also on their transfer agenda. That’s according to Czech journalist Jan Podrouzek and he made these claims about the Slavia Prague player during an interview with Tipsbladet.

Operating mainly as a right-back this season, the 24-year-old has managed six goals and nine assists in all competitions, which includes two goals and two assists in the UEFA Conference League.

The Denmark international’s displays for the Czech side caught the attention of Thomas Frank’s side and they even made an offer to acquire his services.

Bah was open to making a switch to Brentford, but then his side got in the way.

“From what I know, Bah has had offers from Russia and England in the last two transfer windows. Russia was not an option for Slavia, who see him move to a top league in Europe. So, the club turned down the offer,” Podrouzek said.

“Brentford then came on the field in January and Bah wanted to switch there immediately but the price was very low.”

“The club told the player that this meant that Brentford would not bring him in as an important player, but that he would instead become a marginal player. Then again, Slavia chose to reject the offer.”

Slavia Prague’s decision to reject Brentford’s offer had not pleased Bah, but the situation seems to have now resolved.

The Denmark international and his employer hope the next window will ‘offer a good opportunity’ for both parties to carry out the transfer.
