Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri is waiting for the club to call him back regarding a return to Old Trafford this month.
That’s according to Noticias de Alava, who say Alaves are willing to let the winger return to England to free up space in their wage budget.
Pellistri has been on loan with the Spanish side since the summer, having renewed his loan deal with them after a successful spell during the second half of last season.
He’s featured far less than he would have liked to, though, and there have been reports that Manchester United could bring him back this month in order to send him elsewhere.
Noticias de Alava now report that Alaves would be happy to see that happen, having told the player and several others they want to ‘let him go’.
They are ‘keen to let go’ of several players so that they can ease the salary cap on the squad and bring in new reinforcements this month.
However, getting rid of Pellistri is not in their hands at this moment in time as the youngster is waiting for Manchester United to ‘call him back’ regarding their plans this month.
That is not going to happen until they can find a ‘new destination’ for the player where he is guaranteed more minutes than he is currently getting as part of the Gasteiz squad.
Until that point, he’ll be remaining in Spain, despite the fact Alaves have made it clear he is no longer a part of their plans moving forwards.
